Ljubljana, 27 January - SLOVENEC: WHICH GOVERNMENT IS FOOLING THE VOTERS? - On Thursday we could read in the newspapers that nothing will come of the Slovenian government. Various combinations, a media uproar, waiting for some kind of a statement, boasting in front of cameras, etc., all confused the Slovenian voters. Not a word was said about who cooked up the whole mess, who stirred it, and who remained hungry, Janez Orel writes. He then continues to analyze the events which brought us to the present political crises. Bavčar and his party opened the debate about a competent government, Rupel began complications on the issue of the Slovenian minority in Italy and sent of Smolle, the media tried to place Drnovšek in office, while he waited to see the outcome which should gain him Peterle's seat, leaving Kučan without a serious competitor at the presidential elections.
