"Consensus Talks" on Bilingual Signposts Scheduled for 13 March
Vienna/Klagenfurt, 4 March - Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel has announced that the first round of the "consensus conference", aimed at finding agreement between the Slovenian minority and the Austrian authorities on the erection of bilingual signposts in the province, would take place on 13 March. A Slovenian minority organisation, meanwhile, has said the talks should not focus on the exact number of signs that must be put up but rather on the ruling of the Austrian Constitutional Court on the matter.
