Ljubljana, 9 March - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 10 March:
LJUBLJANA - The speaker of the Austrian parliament, Andreas Khol, is to begin a two-day official visit. After meeting his Slovenian counterpart France Cukjati, the two speakers are to make a statement to the press at 5:45 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold its weekly session. The agenda includes a bill on the suspension of certain procedures in minor offences, which would erase thousands of minor traffic violations to reduce court backlogs; amendments to the act on primary school; and amendments to the act on police. A news conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The Institute for Macroeconomic Analysis and Development (IMAD) and the Faculty of Social Sciences are to organise a round table on globalisation challenges faced by small countries at 9:30 AM. (STA)
MARIBOR - A two-day conference on entrepreneurship, innovation and management, dubbed PODIM, is to begin, to be attended by Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak. A news conference at 11:15 AM and a panel on how to facilitate the transfer of innovation into business at 3 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Presentation of the Italian road and railway mobility system at 2 PM. The event, an initiative for which came from the Italian Foreign Ministry, is to be attended by several politicians and businessmen from Slovenia and Italy.
LJUBLJANA - The SLOMAK coordinating body of the Slovenian minority in Austria, Italy, Hungary and Croatia is to meet for a regular session, to be followed by a press conference at 1:30 PM and a meeting with PM Janez Jansa at 4 PM. (STA)
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Minister of the Environment and Spatial Planning Janez Podobnik is to attend a meeting of the EU environmental council. The ministers will debate the intermediate report on Lisbon Strategy implementation and the European Commission's report on environment policy implementation in 2004.
MADRID, Spain - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to attend, on behalf of the prime minister, an international forum on democracy, security and terrorism, sponsored by Spanish King Juan Carlos.
KIEV, Ukraine - The OSCE is to organise a two-day seminar on the integration of members of ethnic minorities as part of preparatory seminars ahead of the 13th OSCE Economic Forum, to be held in May in Prague.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Environmental Agency is to host a two-day meeting of directors of European environmental agencies to discuss a report on the state of the environment and touch on climate change; begin at 9:30 AM.
KIEV, Ukraine - Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti is to pay a two-day visit to Ukraine to attend the Council of Europe's ministerial conference on media policy.
LJUBLJANA - Organisers of the 7th Ljubljana International Festival of Documentary Film (from 16 to 23 March) are to hold a news conference.
