Minority Says Haider Dashing Hope for Solution of Bilingual Signs
Klagenfurt, 15 March - A Slovenian minority organisation has expressed regret because the Carinthian governor Joerg Haider "is only two days after the Sunday conference of consensus dashing the hope that Austria will after 50 years finally implement Article 7 of the Austrian State Treaty". The statement comes after Haider said on Tuesday that the treaty was not relevant in settling the issue of bilingual place-name signs.
