Ljubljana, 20 March - Below is a schedule of events for Monday, 21 March:
LJUBLJANA - As an IMF delegation concludes its routine visit to Slovenia, the central bank is to hold a news conference at 2 PM to present the IMF findings. Bank governor Mitja Gaspari is to take part alongside the finance minister and two IMF officials. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to open its March session at 2 PM as part of which it will debate a bill abolishing thousands of pending minor offences, and decide whether to launch a parliamentary inquiry to examine the work of prosecutors. The session will open with PM Janez Jansa and ministers taking questions from the floor. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The Lisbon strategy implementation to be debated at 6 PM by the prime minister and his ministers, the director of a macroeconomic institute, a member of the govt Strategic Council for Economic Development and a MEP. The strategy will first be outlined by European Commissioner Janez Potocnik.
LJUBLJANA - An international conference on the environment and economy is to be organised by the Slovenian ecological cluster and the Chamber of Commerce at 9:30 AM. Several panels are to take place, including on how to think environment-friendly and make profit (3:45 PM). (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The opening of an itinerant exhibition on fusion designed by the EU to bring its fusion programme closer to the general public. "Fusion Expo" is to be opened at 11 AM by Science and Research Commissioner Janez Potocnik.
CELJE - Leader of the opposition United List of Social Democrats (ZLSD) Borut Pahor is to attend a panel on the future of social democracy, an event organised by the Celje branch of the ZLSD at 6 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The assembly of the state-run Pension Fund Management (KAD) is to appoint a caretaker management, who are to run the fund until a new management is appointed. A statement to the press is expected late in the afternoon.
LJUBLJANA - Health Minister Andrej Brucan is to speak to the press about the state of things at his ministry at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The ways in which the Roma are portrayed in the Slovenian media will be the topic of a panel organised by Peace Institute at 11 AM as part of a European week of the media and minorities.
LJUBLJANA - The Helsinki Monitor Slovenia (HMS) is to speak about fighting racism at a news conference at 11 AM, held as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
LJUBLJANA - The Defence Ministry is to host a five-day annual meeting of Slovenia's military attaches, who will discuss changes in defence. Participants will be addressed by Defence Minister Karl Erjavec and the chief-of-staff, Major General Ladislav Lipic.
