Ljubljana, 21 March - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 22 March:

BRUSSELS, Belgium - PM Janez Jansa is to attend a two-day EU summit focusing on the reforms of the stability pact and the Lisbon Strategy. He will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and State Secretary in charge of EU affairs Marcel Koprol. Jansa is to attend a meeting of European People's Party leaders ahead of the summit and hold talks with his Austrian and Italian counterparts, Wolfgang Schuessel and Silvio Berlusconi. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General John Reith, is to arrive for a two-day visit to the Slovenian Armed Forces.

LJUBLJANA - Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Marija Lukacic is to speak to the press at 10 AM about the state of affairs in agriculture, forestry and food. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti is to hold a press conference at 1:30 PM to present an assessment of the state of affairs in culture. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Jure Zupan is to present to the press at 10 AM the conclusions of the 11th ministerial of the Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies (CEEPUS) in Vienna.

LJUBLJANA - A waste management conference is to open at 9 AM, organised by the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning as part of a Slovenia-Austria Interreg project. A press conference is scheduled at 1 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Environmental Agency is to speak about the quality of underground water in Slovenia to the press at 9:30 AM on the occasion of World Water Day.

LJUBLJANA - A conference on climate change and how it affects waters in Europe is to be held by the Ministry of the Environment at 11 AM on World Water Day.

LJUBLJANA - The Council of Europe Information Centre is to hold a debate about the right to timely trial; at 2 PM.
