Review of Slovene Economy from August 29 to September 3
Ljubljana, 3 September - This year's wheat crop is great in quantity, yet its quality does not meet the expectations. Milling industry bought out 93 thousand tons of wheat which has been mainly classified as second and third class wheat. According to government's May and June expectations, a half of the crop would be first class wheat, while the other half the second class. The government fixed the wheat price with the respect to these expectations. The analysis of the crop showed a lower amount of albumen. However, the quality of the wheat is still sufficient for baking bread. At its Thursday's session, the government passed a resolution on changing the second and third class wheat prices. The new price of the second class wheat is SIT 25.90 per kilo, which is a SIT 0.08 rise. The third class wheat price was raised by SIT 8.9 and stands at SIT 22.4.
