Conference Highlights Poor Protection of Freelance Journalists

Ljubljana, 1 April - Most freelance journalists did not chose to be freelancers, but were forced into it by the circumstances. Most of them do the work of full-time employees, but under worse conditions and for smaller pay. Additionally, they are more liable to self-censorship as they are poorly protected and therefore more exposed, a journalism expert told a conference on freelance journalism on Friday.
