John Paul II Visited Slovenia Twice
Ljubljana, 2 April - Pope John Paul II (1920 - 2005) visited Slovenia twice during his papacy, one of the longest in the history of the Catholic Church. The first visit came in May 1996, when he made stops in all three Slovenian diocese. The second followed in September 1999, when he beatified the first Slovenian ever.
