IZOLA/LJUBLJANA - Food companies Droga and Kolinska are to hold separate shareholder meetings to give the final seal of approval to the merger carried out under the auspices of conglomerate Istrabenz. The shareholders will also name a supervisory board of the merged company. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Shareholders of Zavarovalnica Triglav, Slovenia's top insurer, are meeting to appoint a new supervisory board. The meeting was called at the request of the company's biggest owner, the state-run Restitution Fund (SOD).

LJUBLJANA - PM Janez Jansa is to speak to the press at noon about the state of affairs established by his government after taking over from the previous LDS cabinet. (STA)

NOVO MESTO - Education Minister Milan Zver is to meet representatives of parents of the Romany children of a local primary school at 4 PM. The minister is to outline a government-sponsored plan of separate classes for Romany and other pupils at the Brsljin school. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - As mass services and prayers are being held throughout the country for the late Pope John Paul II, a requiem will be held at 6.30 PM at St Nicolas Cathedral. The Mass will be presided over by the apostolic nuncio to Slovenia, and the sermon delivered by the Ljubljana archbishop and Slovenian metropolitan.

LJUBLJANA - US Ambassador Thomas B. Robertson is to speak at 5 PM about US-Europe partnership (The USA and Europe: A Democratic Partnership in Action) at an event organised by Euro-Atlantic Council Slovenia and Society for International Relations.

LJUBLJANA - The Government PR and Media Office and the Small Business Development Centre will present tenders for development funds at noon.

HELSINKI, Finland - Slovenia's Justice Minister Lovro Sturm is to attend a conference of Council of Europe ministers of justice, which will open in the evening with an address by Finnish Minister Johannes Koskinen; through Friday.

MURSKA SOBOTA - The Housing Chamber is to organise a two-day seminar entitled "Housing, Citizens and the State". Minister of the Environment and Spatial Planning Janez Podobnik to attend; begins at 10 AM.

PORTOROZ - A two-day conference of energy managers, to be attended by Minister of the Environment and Spatial Planning Janez Podobnik, is to close.

LJUBLJANA - Retail chain Spar Slovenija is to present business results for 2004 and plans for this year at a news conference at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The Public Health Institute is to stage a press conference at 11 AM to mark World Health Day, 7 April. Health Minister Andrej Brucan is expected to attend.
