Delo Wonders Whether Cerklje Will Become a NATO Base
Ljubljana, 16 April - The Ministry of Defence has drafted an investment plan for the Cerklje ob Krki airport, which is to be ready to receive NATO planes by 2010. According to the confidential document, the project has a price tag of SIT 16bn (EUR 66.7m), which leads daily Delo to speculate whether it will indeed by used only for emergency support of NATO forces as publicly announced, or whether it is being turned into a permanent NATO base.
