Ljubljana, 17 April - Below is a schedule of events for Monday, 18 April:
BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan - As the OSCE chairman, FM Dimitrij Rupel is to begin a tour of Central Asia by visiting Kyrgyzstan to meet the interim leadership, representatives of political parties and NGOs. He is then scheduled to visit Tajikistan on Tuesday and Turkmenistan on Wednesday. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to begin its April session with a Q&A session at 2 PM. On Wednesday, a vote is to be taken to appoint Barbara Brezigar a new state prosecutor general, and an inquiry commission on the prosecution service set up. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Four inspectors from the European Commission's Food and Veterinary Office are to arrive in Slovenia to examine the country's implementation of legislation on animal by-products. The mission ends on 26 April.
LJUBLJANA - A third business week, organised by the Chamber of Commerce and the Economics Ministry, is to examine global competitiveness and Slovenia's place in it. The opening (9 AM) will be followed by a talk on trends on the global market and what they mean for Slovenia. (STA)
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - The EU council for competitiveness is to discuss the 7th research programme and a programme for competitiveness and innovation, among others. Slovenia's Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Jure Zupan to attend.
LJUBLJANA - The 10th Slovenian Book Days, an annual festival that promotes reading, is to begin at 11 AM in Zvezda Park with addresses by President Janez Drnovsek and Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The Trade Union of Pensioners at the Association of Free Trade Unions (ZSSS) is to outline its view on the proposed changes to the pension and disability insurance act; at 10 AM.
