PRESS REVIEW FROM SLOVENIA, FEBRUARY 15, 1992
Ljubljana, 15 February - THE DELO: THE MAN FROM THE HACIENDA - Mag. Marko Voljč, as a candidate with "experience in lengthier absences", will have a chance of climbing to the top of the governmental apex only in the event that the delegates, as well as the political parties, are convinced that the current Prime Minister, Lojze Peterle, must be ousted at any price. It is no secret that many of them are definitely fed up with Mr. Peterle's governing and are prepared to do even the most incredible things, just to bring him crashing down as soon as possible. The question is, though, whether such policy can lead to any results at all. It would not be strange if, after the delegates' initial surprise wears off, the parties were to start thinking somewhat along these lines: Firstly, this opportunity must be taken; secondly, the election of Marko Voljč will in any case lead to the fall of Lojze Peterle and thirdly, Mr. Voljč can still be kept from coming into office afterwards, by our not voting for the government he will wish to compose, wrote Danilo Slivnik.
