Ljubljana, 4 May - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 5 May:

SKOPJE, Macedonia - The financial committee of the successors to the former Yugoslavia is to meet after a one-year intermission to examine how to make operational last year's agreement on the division of monetary gold. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Weekly cabinet session. The agenda includes amendments to the act on political parties and a regulation on structural and agriculture policy measures for 2005 and 2006. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)

MARIBOR - The supervisory board of NKBM, the country's second largest bank, is due to meet at 11 AM to decide on a new management board after CEO Crtomir Mesaric stepped down in late April. (STA)

PORTOROZ - The final day of a six-day session of the Slovenian-Croatian-Italian commission for the protection of the Adriatic. A press conference is scheduled for 12:30 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions (ZSSS) is to hold a press conference at noon to address absenteeism and the stated intention of Health Minister Andrej Brucan to cut wage compensation for sick leave.

SEZANA - The council of the opposition Liberal Democrats (LDS) is to meet behind closed doors at 4:30 PM to discuss current affairs. A statement for the press is scheduled after the session.

LJUBLJANA - The Agency of Technological Development and the Economics Ministry's directorate for entrepreneurship are to organise a seminar on the transfer of know-how to the corporate sector, presenting the experience of Japan; at 9 AM.

PORTOROZ - The start at 9 AM of the two-day international congress Direkt2005, organised by the Direct Marketing Association.

PRAGUE, Czech Republic - The opening of the 11th international book fair Bookworld, which has put Slovenia in the limelight this year. The opening address will be delivered by Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti.

LJUBLJANA - Painters' associations are to confer this year's Jakopic Award, the highest prize for achievements in fine arts in Slovenia, at a ceremony scheduled for 8 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The Exodus festival of performing arts is to open at 8 PM with "The Busker's Opera", a show adapted from "The Beggar's Opera" by John Gay.

INNSBRUCK, Austria - Slovenia will play Latvia in the preliminary round of the World Ice Hockey Championships. (STA)
