Ljubljana, 5 May - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 6 May:

LJUBLJANA - The Economic Social Council, which unites the social partners, is to debate the proposed changes to the pension and disability insurance act at a meeting starting at 10 AM. (STA)

BUDAPEST, Hungary - Parliament Speaker France Cukjati is to take part in a two-day conference of parliamentary speakers from EU member states and the European Parliament. The participants are to review cooperation among national parliaments and the role of parliaments in the EU.

SKOPJE, Macedonia - The financial committee of the successors to the former Yugoslavia is to continue its two-day meeting.

LJUBLJANA - Alojz Peterle, a member of the European Parliament and a special envoy of the OSCE for Central Asia, is to hold a press conference at 11 AM to speak about the French referendum on the EU constitution and the current situation in Kyrgyzstan.

LJUBLJANA - The main ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII and the liberation of Ljubljana is to be held at 11 AM, with Ljubljana Mayor Danica Simsic the key-note speaker.

LJUBLJANA - Top officials of the opposition Social Democrats (SD) are to hold a press conference on workers' rights and other social issues at 12:30 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The ruling Slovenian Democrats (SDS) are to present their view on the first year of Slovenia's EU membership ahead of Europe Day, 9 May.

LJUBLJANA - Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to hold a press conference at 10 AM on topical issues.

GORNJA RADGONA - The 3rd International fair of hunting, fishing, tourism and outdoor activities is to get underway, featuring 105 exhibitors from 12 countries.
