Ljubljana, 8 May - Below is a schedule of events for Monday, 9 May:
LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to convene for a special session at 7 PM to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe. The session is to be followed by the main state ceremony to mark the anniversary at Cankarjev dom arts centre at 8 PM, featuring Prime Minister Janez Jansa as the key-note speaker. (STA)
MOSCOW, Russia - President Janez Drnovsek is to travel to the Russian capital to attend the main ceremony on the end of WWII.
NOVA GORICA - The head of the Association of World War II Veterans Janez Stanovnik and Former President Milan Kucan are to visit the WWII memorial that was desecrated ahead of Resistance Day; at 2 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The "Greeting Freedom" exhibition on the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Europe is to open at the National University Library.
LJUBLJANA - Europe Day is to be marked around Slovenia. The day also kicks off the European Week festival, with special events scheduled to be held across the country. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Finnish Minister of Trade and European Affairs Paula Lehtomaki is set to begin a two-day visit to Slovenia. She is to meet with Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak. The pair are scheduled to hold a press conference at 3 PM. (STA)
