Ljubljana, 17 May - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 18 May:
LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is to debate amendments to the income tax act and public sector wages act. Lawmakers are also scheduled to vote on the proposed appointment of Aleks Stakul as the director general of public broadcaster RTV Slovenija. Moreover, Prime Minister Janez Jansa is to answer opposition questions on the last day of the May session. (STA)
OTTAWA, Canada - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is scheduled to begin a three-day working visit to Canada. As part of the visit he will be taking part in the 7th ministerial meeting of the Human Security Network. He is also scheduled to meet top Canadian officials.
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - Chair of the EU affairs committee Anton Kokalj is to attend the meeting of the Conference of European Affairs Committees (COSAC).
LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) is to stage a public debate on the government-sponsored changes to the pension and disability insurance act that would amend the way pensions are adjusted compared to wages; at 5 PM.
