Surplus in EU Budget Brings Slovenia Contribution Down by EUR 7M

Brussels, 18 May - Slovenia is to pay EUR 7m less in the EU's common budget than originally planned. The reason is that the EU finished the 2004 fiscal year with a surplus of EUR 2.737bn, which will be transferred to the current year. As a result, contributions by member states will be reduced, the European Commission said.
