Ljubljana, 24 May - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 25 May:

LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's competitiveness in the EU is to be discussed at the 7th session on the future of Slovenia, talks sponsored by President Janez Drnovsek. Apart from distinguished economists, the meeting is to be attended by Prime Minister Janez Jansa. (STA)

AARE, Sweden - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to attend a two-day security forum of NATO's Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council. NATO and Partnership ministers are to discuss hot spots in Central Asia and the Balkans as well as Partnership cooperation.

LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (GZS) administrative board is to meet at 3 PM. Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak is to address the board behind closed doors at the beginning of the meeting.

LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions (1 PM) and Pergam union association (10:30 AM) are to outline their views on the proposed changes to the health care act at separate press conferences. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Officials of the Corruption Prevention Office are to speak about topical issues at a press conference at 1 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary committee for finance and monetary policy is to hold a session to debate changes to the corporate income tax act.

PORTOROZ - A three-day conference on modern public administration, organised by the Ministry of Public Administration, is to draw to a close.

LJUBLJANA - Amnesty International Slovenia is to present the annual Human Rights Report at a press conference at 11 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The 2005 Desetnica Award for best youth book is to be presented.

IZOLA - The 2nd festival "Kino Otok - Isola Cinema" is to begin, featuring 30 films from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
