Ljubljana, 1 June - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 2 June:
LJUBLJANA - Kosovo Prime Minister Bajram Kosumi will be visiting Slovenia at the invitation of Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, the incumbent OSCE chairman. As part of the visit, Kosumi is also expected to meet representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and business officials interested in doing business with Kosovo. Rupel is to make a statement to the press following the talks at 9:25 AM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to present the 2004 Annual Report to Speaker of Parliament France Cukjati. Hanzek is scheduled to outline the contents of the report at a press conference at 3 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The government is expected to debate changes to the state administration act, the national programme of environmental protection and the national programme of gender equality. Amendments to the legislation dealing with foreigners are also on the agenda of the regular weekly session. Press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate and Justice Minister Lovro Sturm are to take part in a two-day session of the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council. Interior ministers are expected to endorse a framework timetable of the Schengen area expansion to ten new members, including Slovenia.
LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - A two day session of the EU Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumers Council is to begin, with Labour Minister Janez Drobnic representing Slovenia. One of the items on the agenda is the controversial directive on working hours.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary committee on labour, family and social affairs is set to debate the government-sponsored bill on the registration of same-sex unions; at 1 PM.
LJUBLJANA - Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Jure Zupan is expected to meet a delegation of China's Ministry of Science and Technology.
PORTOROZ - The Slovenian Insurance Association is to organise the 12th conference of Slovenian insurers with the main topic "Europe without Boundaries". Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to address the meeting at 3 PM to debate the state of Slovenia's financial sector, with emphasis on the insurance sector.
PORTOROZ - The 4th annual "Days of Labour Law and Social Security" are to get under way at 9:30 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Italian ambassador to Slovenia Daniele Verga is to confer decorations of the Italian president, "Ordine della Stella della Solidarieta Italiana", on University of Primorsko chancellor Lucija Cok and Ciril Zlobec, member of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts; at 6:30 PM.
LJUBLJANA - A press conference ahead of the 46th Ljubljana Jazz Festival, which is to take place from 30 June to 2 July; at 11 AM.
