        LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak to attend a session of the EU Council for Competitiveness.
        LJUBLJANA - The supervisory board of the largest insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav to appoint a new chairman of the management board after Joze Lenic stepped down in March.
        VIENNA, Austria - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm to begin a two-day official visit to Austria.
        CETINJE, Serbia-Montenegro - Foreign Ministry State Secretary Bozo Cerar to attend a ministerial meeting of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative.
        LJUBLJANA - The 61st congress of international association of film archives (FIAF) to get under way.
        LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk to speak about several budget-related topics.

        LJUBLJANA - The 4th festival of NGOs, LUPA, to begin, through 14 June.
        BLED - The supervisory board for Slovenia's Single Programming Document for the 2004-2006 period to meet; projects financed from structural funds to be presented.
        LJUBLJANA - The Stritar Award for young authors and/or theatre critics to be conferred.

        BRUSSELS, Belgium - An two-day informal meeting of NATO defence ministers to be attended by Slovenia's Karl Erjavec.
        LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Steel Group to organise a two-day conference as part of the European Confederation of Iron and Steel Industries (Eurofer).
        BLED - The two-day, 8th Slovenian Tourism Forum to begin, organised by the Slovenian Tourism Board.

FRIDAY, 10 June
        BRIJUNI, Croatia - The Slovenian and Croatian governments are to hold their first ever joint session.
        BLED - The start of a two-day meeting of speakers from the regional partnership gathering Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Speakers from several SE European countries also invited to attend.
        LJUBLJANA - European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Mariann Fischer Boel to visit Slovenia.
        PARIS, France - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec to begin a three-day visit to France to attend the 22nd international conference on global security.
        VENICE, Italy - Slovenia's national pavilion featuring an installation by Vadim Fiskin to officially open at the "A+A" Gallery as part of the Venice biennial of contemporary art; open to the public as of 11 June.
        PORTOROZ - The European Livestock and Meat Trading Union (UECBV) is to meet for a general assembly.
        VELENJE - The Pretnar Award for promotion of Slovenian literature abroad to be conferred on a Czech translator as part of the 4th Herberstein-Litera festival of Slovenian authors.
        LJUBLJANA - The Zupancic Award for outstanding achievement in culture to be given out by the municipality of Ljubljana.
        ZAGORJE - The 10th international festival of chamber music, Valvasor Evenings, to begin.

SATURDAY, 11 June
        TEHARJE - A national ceremony at the Teharje Memorial Park to the victims of post-war killings. President Janez Drnovsek as the key-note speaker.
