Finance Ministry Not Informed about Suspension of Farm Aid

Ljubljana, 16 June - The Finance Ministry has said it was not officially informed about the European Commission's move to halt the payment of two farm subsidies worth EUR 18.3m because of the country's new income tax law. In any case, income tax is in the exclusive domain of member states and can therefore not be incompatible with EU regulations, the ministry told STA on Thursday.
