Peterle Welcomes Decision to Put EU Constitution on Hold

Ljubljana, 17 June - Alojz Peterle, a member of the European Parliament, insists that the decision of the EU summit to extend the November 2006 deadline for the ratification of the constitution is wise. It would be unwise to pursue ratification in the climate created by the "no" votes in France and Netherlands, he told the press on Friday.
