The National Office of Statistics reported 124,450 unemployed people in Slovenia in August, which is 0.9 per cent less than in July, 9.3 less than at the end of last year, and 6.6 per cent less than a year ago. The National Office of Statistics anticipates unemployment to increase during the autumn due to a larger number of graduates and an expected larger number of permanent surplus of employees. In August, 45.5 per cent of the unemployed were women, 19.3 per cent were looking for their first employment, 32.9 per cent were younger than 26, 12 per cent were unemployed due to bankruptcy, and 22.2 were a permanent surplus. 45.6 per cent of unemployed were without proper professional education.
