Ombudsman Says Statement Requested from Asylum Seekers Illegal

Ljubljana, 20 June - When asylum seekers arrive at the asylum home, they have to sign a statement saying they renounce their asylum request if they leave the premises. It is illegal to demand the signing of a statement without the appropriate legal basis, Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek pointed out on Monday.
