Podobnik Proposes Establishing Mercury Centre in Idrija

Luxembourg, 24 June - Environment Minister Janez Podobnik proposed that an information and research centre dealing with the issue of mercury be set up in the town of Idrija, home to what used to be the second largest mercury mine in the world, as he took part in Friday's session of the EU Environment Council.
