Ljubljana, 26 June - After a number of complications, the parliament passed the supplementary budget for 2005, which anticipates a budget deficit of 1.4% of GDP, down from the originally planned 1.7%. Meanwhile, Slovenia's development strategy, adopted by the government Thursday, foresees Slovenia exceeding the average EU economic development in the next ten years. Whether the planned division into two cohesion regions, set down in a government bill on balanced regional development, will contribute to the achievement of that aim remains to be seen.
