Schedule of Events for Thursday, 30 June

WASHINGTON, United States - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, the OSCE chairman, is set to begin a four-day visit to the US and Canada. He will kick off his visit by delivering a lecture at the American Society of International Law (5:30 PM local time).

VIENNA - The Panel of Eminent Persons tasked with drawing up proposals for OSCE reform is to present the reform proposal at a session of the OSCE permanent council. A press conference is scheduled for 1 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Weekly cabinet session. The agenda includes among other things amendments to the act on public law and order. A press conference at 2 PM. (STA)

ANKARA, Turkey - A delegation of the parliamentary EU affairs committee, headed by committee chair Anton Kokalj, is to wrap up a four-day visit to Turkey.

LJUBLJANA - The Statistics Office is to present inflation data for June and the latest figures on newborn babies at a press conference at 10:30 AM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Pergam trade union association is to hold a press conference at 10:30 AM. It is expected to announce a general strike in publishing. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The opening at 2 PM of the 3rd Public Sector Business Conference. Keynote address to be delivered by PM Janez Jansa, who is expected to outline government guidelines for public sector development. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The council of the coalition New Slovenia (NSi) is to review the implementation of the coalition agreement and other topical issues. A statement for the press is scheduled for 5 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Heraklith, the Austrian majority shareholder of insulation manufacturer Termo, is to talk to the press at 2 PM to present its view on the recent disputes in the company.

LJUBLJANA - The opposition Social Democrats (SD) and the non-parliamentary Democratic Party (DS) are to sign an agreement on cooperation at noon.

LJUBLJANA - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and technology is to confer at 7 PM the awards Slovenian Ambassador of Science. The winners will be declared at a news conference at 9 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Organisers of the Ljubljana Summer festival (which starts on 4 July) are to present this year's events and performances at a press conference scheduled for 11 AM.
