Ljubljana, 2 July - It was a busy week for lawmakers and the government, as both push hard to get things done before the summer recess. The cabinet visited the eastern Savinjsko-Salesko region on Wednesday in its series of visits to the country's regional centres, and appointed a new police chief the following day. Meanwhile, the parties were busy with the controversial act on public broadcaster RTV Slovenija, which was vetoed by the National Council while the opposition rushed to collect signatures to call a referendum should the councillors not reject the law.
