Solana Nominates Kubis as Envoy for Central Asia

Brussels, 1 July - MEP Alojz Peterle, the former prime minister and foreign minister, was one of the three candidates for the post of special EU envoy to Central Asia. However, the EU high foreign policy representative Javier Solana on Friday nominated former OSCE Secretary General Jan Kubis as the most suitable candidate for the post.
