MONDAY, 4 July
        LJUBLJANA - A EUR 25m contact is to be signed between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Slovenia's largest bank Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB).
        LJUBLJANA - Veterinary inspectors of the EU Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) are to start a five-day visit to Slovenia.
        OTOCEC - Transport Minister Janez Bozic is to meet his Croatian counterpart Bozidar Kalmeto.
        WARSAW, Poland - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate is to meet Polish Minister of Interior Affairs and Administration Ryszard Kalisz to sign a protocol on the implementation of a bilateral agreement on illegal migrants.
        LJUBLJANA - The Russian Bolshoi Theatre with Sergei Prokofiev's opera "The Fiery Angel" is to open the 53rd Ljubljana Summer Festival; through 18 August.
        LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce is to award the best innovations in Slovenia for the year 2004.
        LJUBLJANA - Activity of the Slovenian World Congress and the celebration of its 15th anniversary are to be presented to the press.
        LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Biomass Association is to organise the 6th international SLOBIOM 2005 conference. The main topic of the two-day conference will be renewable energy sources for Slovenia and countries in SE Europe up to 2020.
        LJUBLJANA - The international youth gathering "Brave New Europe 2005 - Dinner for 25", organised by the Young European Federalists (JEF), is to begin.
        LJUBLJANA - A statement of several well-known persons about hate speech used in parliament is to be presented to the press.
        LJUBLJANA - Centre for Slovenian as a Second/Foreign Language of the Faculty of Arts is to host a ceremony marking the 24th summer school and the 41st seminar of the Slovenian language.

TUESDAY, 5 July
        LJUBLJANA - The newly-appointed ambassadors of Thailand, Spain and Netherlands are to present their credentials to President Janez Drnovsek.
        LJUBLJANA - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to meet Erhard Busek, special coordinator of the Stability Pact for Southeastern Europe.
        LJUBLJANA - Following Great Britain's takeover of the EU presidency, FM Dimitrij Rupel is to receive Ambassador of Great Britain to Slovenia Tim Simmons.
        LJUBLJANA - The head of the parliamentary commission for Slovenians abroad Janez Kramberger is to hold a press conference on the situation of the Slovenian minority in the neighbouring countries.
        LJUBLJANA - UNICEF, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Council of Europe and the Slovenian government are to organise a two-day Regional UN Consultation for Europe and Central Asia themed "Stop Violence Against Children: Act Now!".
        LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce is to discuss its 2004 annual report at the AGM. The president of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the president of Eurochambers Christoph Leitl to take part.
        LJUBLJANA - Trade Association of the Chamber of Commerce is to talk to the press about double pricing and the amendments of the law on trade.
        LJUBLJANA - The Student Organisation of the University of Ljubljana and its partner organisations from Croatia, Serbia-Montenegro, Italy and Slovenia, are to hold a round table entitled "Who Are Minorities?" as part of the project "Equal Opportunities".
        KRN - The Office for Religious Communities is to organise a two-day meeting for religious communities.
        MARIBOR - Faculties for natural sciences are to talk to the press about their development and the possibilities to establish a Technical University in Maribor.
        LJUBLJANA - Art centre Cankarjev Dom is to host the first posthumous exhibition of the acclaimed Slovenian artist Zoran Music.

WEDNESDAY, 6 July
        LJUBLJANA - The National Council is to hold a session at which British Ambassador to Slovenia Tim Simmons is to present the priorities of the British EU presidency.
        LJUBLJANA - Defence Ministry State Secretary Franci Znidarsic is to receive the incumbent US Defence Attache to Slovenia Rick Runner and his successor, Lieutenant Colonel Keith Harrington respectively. They are also to be received by Chief-of-Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces, Major General Ladislav Lipic.
        SREBRENICA, Bosnia-Herzegovina - Transport Minister Janez Bozic is to attend the opening of the new facility of the Slovenian car industry supplier Cimos. He is also to lay a wreath on the grave of the victims of Srebrenica genocide.
        LJUBLJANA - At the meeting of the parliamentary committee for foreign policy, President Janez Drnovsek, PM Janez Jansa and FM Dimitrij Rupel are to talk to committee members.
        CELJE - Engrotus, the third-largest retailer in Slovenia, is to present to the press its plan for investments in Macedonia.
        RAVENNA, Italy - The Slovenian Philharmonics Orchestra is to play at the Ravenna Festival for the first time.

THURSDAY, 7 July
        BELFAST, United Kingdom - Slovenian Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs Janez Drobnic is to attend the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO), which opens its two-day informal session.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovakian President Ivan Gasparovic is due begin a two-day official visit.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary commission for Slovenians abroad is to organise a meeting for all Slovenians living abroad, at which FM Dimitrij Rupel is also to take part.
        LJUBLJANA - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to chair a plenary sessions organised within the Regional UN Consultation for Europe and Central Asia themed "Stop Violence Against Children: Act Now!". The "Ljubljana Declaration" to be signed.
        LJUBLJANA - Weekly government session.
        LJUBLJANA - An exhibition of works by Bogdan Borcic "Dachau Cycle" is to open at the National Museum of Contemporary History.

FRIDAY, 8 July
        LJUBLJANA - UNICEF, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Council of Europe and the Slovenian government are to organise a two-day conference "Yokohama Review for Europe and Central Asia - Combating Sexual Exploitation of Children". FM Dimitrij Rupel to deliver the opening speech.
        PORTOROZ - The Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning is to organise a debate on the 14th conference of the signatories of the convention for the protection of the marine environment and the Mediterranean coastal regions, to be held between 8 and 11 November in Portoroz.
        LJUBLJANA - The college of deputy faction leaders and the speaker of parliament are to set the schedule of the parliament's July plenary session.
        MARIBOR - The company Starkom, the joint venture of Unior, the tooling company from Zrece, northeast, and automotive giant DaimlerChrysler, is to hold a press conference.

SATURDAY, 9 July
        LUDRANSKI VRH - The 15th traditional informal meeting of Slovenian politicians is to take place at Najevska lipa in the northeastern region of Korosko.

SUNDAY, 10 July
        SREBRENICA - Slovenian FM and OSCE chairman Dimitrij Rupel is due in Bosnia-Herzegovina to take part in a memorial ceremony marking 10 years since the Srebrenica genocide.
