Ljubljana, 7 July - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 8 July:

LJUBLJANA - A two-day conference "Yokohama Review for Europe and Central Asia - Combating Sexual Exploitation of Children" is to open with an address by FM Dimitrij Rupel. UNICEF Ambassador Johann Olav Koss will be key-note speaker. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic is to conclude a two-day visit by attending a business conference at the Chamber of Commerce (9 AM), and meeting PM Janez Jansa (10:30 AM) and Speaker of the National Assembly France Cukjati (9:50 AM).(STA)

LJUBLJANA - Holding a closed-door session at 2 PM, the parliamentary EU affairs committee is to discuss Slovenia's positions for a session of the EU Council for Economic and Financial Affairs, due on 12 July in Brussels.

LJUBLJANA - Chair of the parliamentary EU affairs committee Anton Kokalj is to meet the head of the European Commission Representation Office in Slovenia Erwan Fouere at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The Ministry of Health is to present the procedures regarding the act on health care and health insurance, which is bogged down in negotiations between social partners; at noon.

LJUBLJANA - The Commission for the Prevention of Corruption is to outline its view on the proposed act on incompatibility of holding public office, which has been filed by the opposition National Party (SNS); at noon.

LJUBLJANA - The college of deputy faction leaders and the speaker of parliament are to set the schedule of the parliament's July plenary session; at noon.

MARIBOR - The company Starkom, the joint venture of Unior, the tooling company from Zrece, and automotive giant DaimlerChrysler, are to hold a press conference at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - An team of inspectors from the EU's Food and Veterinary Office is to conclude its week-long visit to Slovenia, during which it examined BSE prevention and control standards.

KLAGENFURT, Austria - Austria's Centre of National Communities and the party United List (EL) are to give a news conference at 10 AM on the issue of the Carinthian minority in the European Parliament and the Council of Europe.

BELFAST, UK - Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs Janez Drobnic is to attend the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO).

PORTOROZ - The Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning is to organise a debate on the 14th conference of the signatories of the convention for the protection of the marine environment and the Mediterranean coastal regions, to be held between 8 and 11 November in Portoroz; at noon.

LJUBLJANA - The coalition People's Party (SLS) is to talk to the press at 11 AM about the implementation of the coalition agreement and the division of Slovenia to cohesion regions.
