Ljubljana, 24 July - The head of the government Strategic Council for Economic Development Mico Mrkaic stepped down last week, while Finance Ministry State Secretary Bogomir Spiletic announced he was leaving his post shortly. The Mercator supervisors backed the company's capital increase. Following a controversy over how many regions Slovenia should get divided into, party leaders decided it would remain a single cohesion region until the end of the year.
