Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 6 to 12 August

Ljubljana, 13 August - This week, all eyes were on Nanga Parbat, where renowned Slovenian climber Tomaz Humar got stuck more than 6,000 metres up the sheer wall. Thanks to an unprecedented effort by the Pakistani army, Humar was saved, escaping his daring attempt to scale the-so-far-unscaled almost unscathed. Davorin Sadar, who got himself mixed up in a totally different kind of dare almost a decade ago, will probably not be able to get away with it. After years on the run, he was delivered to Slovenia last week by US agents.
