Ljubljana, 21 August - The past week saw a spate of layoffs at Slovenian companies. In the latest blow to the struggling Slovenian textile industry, 180 workers were handed pink slips at Crnomelj-based Beti Konfekcija, a subsidiary of the clothes and textile company Beti Metlika. What is more, as many as 400 jobs could be lost this year in various industries in the Crnomelj municipality, exacerbating an already dire unemployment problem in the Bela krajina region.
