MONDAY, 22 August
CRNOMELJ/METLIKA - Labour, Family and Social Affairs Minister Janez Drobnic is to visit the region of Bela krajina, south-east, after the announcement of massive layoffs in the region. He is to meet local mayors and the representatives of the local employment centre and trade unions.
JESENICE/RADOVLJICA - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm and Justice Ministry State Secretary Robert Marolt are to begin a two-day visit to the northwestern region of Gorenjsko, where they are to meet the representatives of local administrative units.
LJUBLJANA - The opposition Social Democrats (SD) are to hold a press conference at which the party's head Borut Pahor and his adviser Patrick Vlacic are to talk about topical issues.
KOPER - The supervisory board of the National Farm Land and Forest Fund is to hold an extraordinary session after which it is to present its decisions to the press.
TUESDAY, 23 August
MARIBOR - The shopping centre Europark is to present its business results and expansion plans at a press conference.
POREC, Croatia - The Slovenian Friends of Youth Association (ZPMS) is to stage a press conference where it is to present the holiday programme for children within the project "We Were All Children Once" as well as the holiday programme for children with disabilities.
WEDNESDAY, 24 August
LJUBLJANA - The August section of the Mladi Levi (Young Lions) festival of contemporary dance and theatre, featuring six diverse events, is to be opened with a congress entitled "Lovepangs". The congress, designed by Carmen Brucic, is to take place at the Old Power Plant, a new venue launched in Ljubljana.
THURSDAY, 25 August
LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to hold its weekly session, the first after the summer break.
OTOCEC - Drug maker Krka is to talk to the press about its results and future plans.
LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to receive Stanislav Rozman, a Slovenian missionary working in Malawi and the former Slovenian Honorary Consul in Zambia.
LJUBLJANA - The premiere of "Illusion" ("Slepilo"), a new Slovenian feature film, is to take place in the Ljubljana cinema centre Kolosej. The story about a young couple who cannot get out of the vicious circle of drugs, prostitution and violence was written and directed by Jan Bilodjeric.
FRIDAY, 26 August
ANKARAN - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to visit the children from Ukraine and Srebrenica in Debeli Rtic. Within a government-sponsored project, the Ukrainian children hurt by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe and the Srebrenica children affected by 1995 Srebrenica massacre are spending two-week holidays in Debeli rtic.
ZAGREB, Croatia - Education and Sports Minister Milan Zver is to meet his Croatian counterpart Dragan Primorac. They are to sign a protocol on the cooperation in the field of sports for the period 2005-2009.
SALZBURG, Austria - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is travel to Salzburg to attend the traditional Salzburg Opera Festival.
SATURDAY, 27 August
GORNJA RADGONA - The 43rd International Agriculture and Food Fair, one of the biggest fairs of its kind in the region, is due to get underway.
SUNDAY, 28 August
