Ljubljana, 25 August - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 26 August:

ANKARAN - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to visit the children from Ukraine and Srebrenica spending their holidays at Debeli Rtic youth holiday centre as part of a government-sponsored project. Rupel will hold a press conference at 3 PM prior to meeting the children at 3:30 PM.

ZAGREB, Croatia - Education and Sports Minister Milan Zver is to meet his Croatian counterpart Dragan Primorac to sign a protocol on cooperation in sports for the 2005-2009 period. The signing at 3 PM will be followed by statements for the press.

MURSKA SOBOTA - Defence lawyers in the trial against five suspects in the 2000 beating of journalist Miro Petek are set to continue to present their closing arguments after the prosecution and the lawyer of the main suspect delivered theirs on Thursday. A verdict is expected to be pronounced thereafter.

LJUBLJANA - Justice Ministry State Secretary Robert Marolt is to discuss denationalisation at a press conference scheduled for 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The shareholders of telco Telekom Slovenije will hold a general meeting at noon to allocate distributable profit for 2004 and decide whether to confer a discharge on the management and the supervisory board for 2004. A press conference is to follow. (STA)

PORTOROZ - The Istrabenz Hoteli hotel group is set to host a working breakfast at 9:30 AM to outline plans for the reconstruction of the old Palace Hotel at the heart of the seaside resort of Portoroz.

LJUBLJANA - The leader of the junior coalition People's Party (SLS) Janez Podobnik and his associates are to present events organised as part of the party's annual get-together, and comment on topical issues at 11:30 AM.

SALZBURG, Austria - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is travelling to Salzburg to attend the traditional Salzburg Opera Festival.

LJUBLJANA - The 5th annual Emona Promenade festival will get under way with the opening ceremony in Preseren Square at 5 PM, featuring street theatre performances, workshops and other events designed mainly for children.
