Ljubljana, 28 August - Below is a schedule of events for Monday, 29 August:

MURSKA SOBOTA - A verdict is expected to be announced by the Murska Sobota District Court, where five defendants are on trial for attempted murder of Miro Petek, the journalist-cum-lawmaker who was brutally beaten up four and a half years ago. (STA)

ROGASKA SLATINA - Shareholders of Steklarna Rogaska, the glassworks majority-owned by small shareholders, are to take a decision on an ownership change whereby four banks would join its shareholders. (STA)

KRANJ - Sava Kranj is to present half-yearly business results of this chemical and tourism group at a news conference scheduled for 1 PM.

LJUBLJANA - US Senator Tom Harkin will be decorated by President Janez Drnovsek for promoting Slovenia abroad (11 AM). The senator of Slovenian descent is also scheduled to meet FM Dimitrij Rupel (10 AM).

LJUBLJANA - FM and OSCE chairman Dimitrij Rupel is scheduled to meet Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, his personal envoy for Nagorno-Karabakh, and the co-chairs of the US-Russia-France group at 2 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Labour, Social Affairs and Family Minister Janez Drobnic is to present at noon a national strategic report on sustainable pensions, the document adopted by the government last week.

PORTOROZ - The supervisory board of the gaming company Casino Portoroz is to appoint a new management team, who are to take over from the interim management board in early September.

LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's Students' Organisation is to present to the press at 11 AM its changes to the employment act, and a bill on the Slovenian scholarship system.

CELJE - The 38th International Trade Fair is to be presented at a press conference scheduled for 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - A People's Party-sponsored panel is to take a look at Slovenia's health care system and its outlook for the next 10 years at 5 PM.

CELJE - The best Slovenian collection of poems of 2005 is to be awarded the Veronika Award at 8 PM, and Ciril Zlobec will be honoured with the Gold Coin of Poetry, a newly-introduced award for lifetime contribution to Slovenian poetry.
