Ljubljana, 30 August - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 31 August:

GDANSK, Poland - PM Janez Jansa and FM Dimitrij Rupel, who is also the OSCE chairman, are to attend celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the legendary Polish trade union, Solidarity. Jansa is scheduled to meet British Deputy PM John Prescott on the margins of the event. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Governor General of Upper Austria Josef Puehringer is to meet Minister of Local Self-Government and Regional Policy Ivan Zagar as well as the state secretaries of the foreign and transport ministries as he wraps up his three-day visit to Slovenia. The visiting delegation is also scheduled to meet representatives of Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB), Slovenia's largest bank.

LJUBLJANA - The executive committee of the junior coalition People's Party (SLS) is to hold a session to discuss the upcoming referendum on the public broadcaster act and the bill on the declaration of an ecological zone in the Adriatic. Party leader Janez Podobnik is to address the press after the session, expectedly at 6 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The National Statistics Office is to present inflation data for August, as well as current account deficit and general government debt figures; at 10:30 AM. (STA)

NOVA GORICA - Slovenia's biggest gaming chain, Hit, is to hold a press conference at noon to present the construction of a new hotel next to its Perla casino and hotel building.

LJUBLJANA - The Commission on the Prevention of Corruption is to hold a press conference at noon to discuss topical issues, including its opinion on the actions of the police in allowing Defence Minister Karl Erjavec to enter the country outside a designated border crossing following a recent trip abroad.
