Ljubljana, 4 September - Schedule of events in the week from 5 to 11 September:

MONDAY, 5 September
        BAKU, Azerbaijan/YEREVAN, Armenia - The OSCE chairman, Slovenian FM Dimitrij Rupel, to begin a two-day visit to Azerbaijan and Armenia to meet top officials over the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
        BLED - Start of the four-day international conference "Nuclear Energy for New Europe 2005".
        PIRAN - Fishermen from the coastal town of Piran to outline the working conditions in the Bay of Piran resulting from the undetermined border in the bay.
        RAZKRIZJE - The coalition People's Party (SLS) to organise a panel discussing the border with Croatia.
        LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions (ZSSS) to speak about layoffs and the companies' responsibility for them.
        PODCETRTEK/SMARJE PRI JELSAH - President Janez Drnovsek to visit two small municipalities in the east, Podcetrtek and Smarje pri Jelsah, also meeting several other mayors from the region.
        CELJE - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm and State Secretary Robert Marolt to visit Celje.
        MARIBOR - The University of Maribor to present celebrations marking its 30th anniversary.

TUESDAY, 6 September
        LJUBLJANA - The chair of the government reform group Joze P. Damijan to outline reform plans to the trade association at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
        LJUBLJANA - Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Jure Zupan to speak about an Eurostat survey on science and technology, and on world ratings of Slovenain universities.
        LJUBLJANA - Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek to give a press conference.
        LJUBLJANA - Several environmental organisations to organise a panel on waste management.

WEDNESDAY, 7 September
        CELJE - PM Janez Jansa and his ministers to visit Celje as part of a series of government visits to Slovenian regions.
        BRDO PRI KRANJU - An OSCE conference on the organisation's reform, to be attended by OSCE chairman, Slovenia's FM Dimitrij Rupel.
        LIPICA - The 20th Vilenica International Literary Festival to begin.
        CELJE - The start of the 38th International Trade Fair; through 14 Sept.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's Public Health Institute to organise a panel on ways of preventing suicide, ahead of the 10 Sept. World Suicide Prevention Day.
        LJUBLJANA - The advertising festival dubbed The Golden Drum to be presented.
        LJUBLJANA - Sri Lanka Ambassador Aruna Yasodbe Wijewardane, Jemen Ambassador Ali Hameed Sharaf and Hungarian Ambassador Jozsef Czukor to present their credentials to President Janez Drnovsek.
        KISHINEV, Moldova - Slovenia are to play Moldova in the European qualifying round for the 2006 Football World Cup.

THURSDAY, 8 September
        NEWCASTLE, the UK - A two-day informal meeting of EU interior and justice ministers, to be attended by Slovenia's Dragutin Mate and Lovro Sturm.
        RABAT, Morocco - A Mediterranean Seminar of OSCE, to be attended by OSCE chairman, Slovenian FM Dimitrij Rupel.
        LJUBLJANA - The new ambassadors of the Czech Republic and Ireland to present their credentials to President Janez Drnovsek.
        BRDO PRI KRANJU - The Slovenian World Congress to organise a two-day conference of Slovenian scientists and economists from around the world.
        LJUBLJANA - Weekly government session.

FRIDAY, 9 September
        MANCHESTER, the UK - EU finance ministers, including Slovenia's Andrej Bajuk, to begin a two-day informal session.
        LONDON, the UK - A four-day informal meeting of EU environment ministers; a Slovenian delegation in attendance.
        LJUBLJANA - OSCE chairman, Slovenian FM Dimitrij Rupel, to meet OSCE Ambassador at the Mission in Moldova William Hill.
        LJUBLJANA - The Representation Office of the European Commission in Slovenia to present results of the national Eurobarometer report.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary EU affairs committee to meet behind closed doors.

SATURDAY, 10 September
        LONDON, the UK - A three-day informal meeting of EU agriculture ministers, to be attended by Slovenia's Marija Lukacic.
        LOKEV - The Vilenica Award to be conferred on the winner of the 20th Vilenica International Literary Festival.

SUNDAY, 11 September
        LONDON, the UK - A joint session of EU agriculture and environment ministers, with a Slovenian delegation in attendance.
        MOZIRJE - The coalition People's Party (SLS) to meet for the 14th traditional gathering known as "tabor".
