Ljubljana, 7 September - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 8 September:

BRDO PRI KRANJU - The beginning of the 4th conference of Slovenian scientists and businessmen working at home and abroad, an event organised by the Slovenian World Congress, starting at 9 AM. Keynote address to be delivered by PM Janez Jansa. (STA)

NEWCASTLE, the UK - The start of an informal meeting of EU justice and home ministers. Justice Minister Lovro Sturm and Interior Minister Dragutin Mate are to attend the meeting, where talks are to focus on the fight against terrorism.

RABAT, Morocco - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, the OSCE chairman, is to attend the OSCE Mediterranean Seminar, which is dedicated to the organisation's role in migration and integration policies. (STA)

NEW YORK, the US - The second day of a three-day world conference of parliamentary presidents, organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The Slovenian delegation, headed by Speaker France Cukjati, is scheduled to meet Deputy UN Secretary General Louise Frechette.

LJUBLJANA - Weekly cabinet session. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to receive the credentials of new ambassadors from the Czech Republic and Ireland, respectively. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The Supreme Court is to hold a press conference at 1 PM upon the conclusion of a project aimed at improving the efficiency of the courts.

LJUBLJANA - The Public Health Institute is to talk to the press at 9 AM ahead of the 10 September World Suicide Prevention Day.

NOVO MESTO - A press conference at 3 PM ahead of a conference on innovative employment opportunities for disabled persons, organised by the mental health NGO Sent.

LIPICA - A round table entitled "The possibilities of coexistence of different cultures in Europe and the process of searching for a new cultural paradigm" is to be held at 10 AM as part of the Vilenica International Literary Festival.

CAIRO, Egypt - Nine Slovenian athletes are set to start competition at the World Judo Championships.
