MANCHESTER, the UK - Final day of an informal meeting of the EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN), where economic growth in the face of surging oil prices is to top the agenda. Slovenia is being represented by Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk and central bank governor Mitja Gaspari.
LONDON, the UK - Effects of climate change on agriculture is to be discussed by EU agriculture and environment ministers at a joint informal session. Slovenia is being represented by Agriculture Minister Marija Lukacic and Marjan Vezjak of the Environment Ministry.
LIPICA - Authors Ilma Rakusa of Switzerland and Karl-Markus Gauss of Austria will receive the 2005 Vilenica Award at a ceremony, scheduled for 7 PM, that will lower the curtain on this year's Vilenica International Literature Festival. (STA)
VELENJE - The Social Democrats (SD), an opposition left-leaning party, are to meet for a conference at 10 AM to discuss profit sharing and worker shareholding.
PIRAN - Ex-tempore Piran 2005, a painter's event which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, is to conclude with an award-winning ceremony and an exhibition in Tartini Square; at 8 PM.
