Ljubljana, 11 September - Schedule of events in the week from 12 to 18 September:

MONDAY, 12 September
        VILNIUS/RIGA/TALLINN, Lithuania/Latvia/Estonia - PM Janez Jansa to start a three-day tour of the Baltic states. Jansa is to be accompanied by FM Dimitrij Rupel, Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak and a strong business delegation.
        VIENNA, Austria - Two-day, closed-door consultations on OSCE reform are to be launched, bringing together political directors from all 55 OSCE participating states. Slovenia to be represented by Ambassador Boris Frlec.
        LJUBLJANA - Military officials from NATO members states to begin a two-day visit to Slovenia to meet Chief-of-Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces, Major General Ladislav Lipic, and Defence Minister Karl Erjavec.
        BUCHAREST, Romania - Health Minister Andrej Brucan to start a two-day visit to Bucharest to take part in the 55th conference of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe.
        BEIJING, CHENGDU, SHANGHAI, China - Ljubljana Mayor Danica Simsic, who is accompanied by a strong delegation of Slovenian businesses, to begin a six-day visit to China.
        LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk to outline some possible changes to how VAT is accounted.
        LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions (ZSSS) to talk to the press about the proposed tax reform.
        LJUBLJANA - The leader of the opposition Social Democrats (SD) Borut Pahor to give a press conference to discuss topical issues.
        LJUBLJANA - An exhibition of visual arts "Trend 2001-2005" to open.

TUESDAY, 13 September
        RIGA, Latvia - PM Janez Jansa is to visit Latvia. Accompanying him are FM Dimitrij Rupel, Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak and a business delegation headed by the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) Jozko Cuk.
        BERLIN, Germany - Defence ministers of NATO member states are to hold a two-day informal session.
        LJUBLJANA - The Environment Ministry is to present to the press this year's European Mobility Week and the 2005 report on the use of biofuels in transport.
        LENART - The Commission for the Prevention of Corruption is to present its work and tasks.

WEDNESDAY, 14 September
        NEW YORK, the US - President Janez Drnovsek and Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel are to take part in the UN summit.
        TALLINN, Estonia - PM Janez Jansa is to visit Estonia. Accompanying him are Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak and a strong business delegation.
        LJUBLJANA - A public debate about a bill on profit sharing and worker shareholding is to take place, organised by the National Council.
        MARIBOR - The Raiffeisen Krekova banka bank is to speak to the press about its cooperation with the Uniqua insurance company.
        CHENGDU, China - A group of Slovenian business people to take part in a business conference in Chengdu.
        LJUBLJANA - A new newspaper, Direkt, is to be presented to the press.
        LJUBLJANA - The Institute of Cultural Heritage is to present Slovenia's contribution to Days of European Cultural Heritage 2005.
        MILAN, Italy - The Austrian Cultural Forum in Milan is to host an exhibition of Slovenian, Italian and Austrian painters entitled "Impressions... Painters for Srecko Kosovel".
        NEW YORK, the US - Manhattan is to host an exhibition of 12 Slovenian artists; organised by the Slovenian Consulate General in New York.

THURSDAY, 15 September
        NEW YORK, the US - President Janez Drnovsek is to address the UN summit. Accompanying him is FM Dimitrij Rupel.
        LJUBLJANA - The Institute for Strategic Studies is to organise a workshop on the relations between Croatia and Slovenia. A press conference is to follow.
        LJUBLJANA - The Assembly for the Republic is to hold a public debate on the freedom of press and speech in Slovenia ahead of the referendum on the new act on public broadcaster, scheduled for 25 September.
        LJUBLJANA - Within the Media Watch project, a round table organised by the Peace Institute on public broadcasters.
        LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Trade Union of Doctors and Dentists Fides is to give a press conference.
        LJUBLJANA - Weekly government session.
        SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain - The world premiere of the new Slovenian feature film by Jan Cvitkovic, "Odgrobadogroba" (Gravehopping), in the competition section of the 53rd San Sebastian Film Festival (through 24 Sept).

FRIDAY, 16 September
        ROTTERDAM, Netherlands - A two-day meeting of Asian and European economics ministers to begin. Slovenian Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak and Mojca Jazbinsek Volk of the Economics Ministry are to take part.
        SHANGHAI, China - A group of Slovenian business people to take part in a business seminar in Shanghai.
        LJUBLJANA, Slovenia/BRUSSELS, Belgium - The European Mobility Week - the theme this year is "Clever Commuting" - is to get underway.
        LJUBLJANA - A session of the Economic and Social Council.
        PORTOROZ - A state ceremony marking the return of the region of Primorsko to Slovenia.
        GORNJA RADGONA - A press conference ahead of the 3rd international defence fair "Modern Army" which is to take place between 22 and 25 September.
        BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro - Slovenia to take on Bosnia-Herzegovina in a preliminary round of the European Basketball Championships, round one, group C.

SATURDAY, 17 September
        NEW YORK, the US - FM Dimitrij Rupel to take part in the plenary of the 60th session of the UN General Assembly, and a working breakfast of EU foreign ministers. He is also to meet US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
        PORTOROZ - The Association of WWII Veterans (NOB) is to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the liberation of concentration camps.
        LJUBLJANA - The 12th Ex ponto international festival to open.
        BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro - Slovenia to take on Greece in a preliminary round of the European Basketball Championships, round two, group C.
        STICNA - The traditional meeting of the Slovenian Catholic youth.
        LJUBLJANA - Miss Slovenia 2005 Finals.

SUNDAY, 18 September
        NEW YORK, the US - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to meet his Thai counterpart Kantathi Suphamongkol. Rupel is also to take part in a working lunch of foreign ministers of the Human Safety Network.
        MEDVODE - The coalition Nova Slovenia (NSi) to meet for a traditional gathering known as "tabor". Address by party leader Andrej Bajuk.
        PRILOZJE V BELI KRAJINI - A meeting of WWI veterans, Defence Minister Karl Erjavec to take part.
        LJUBLJANA - Ljubljana to host the 39th annual congress of the Association Internationale des Critiques d'Art (through 23 Sept).
        BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro - Slovenia to take on France in a preliminary round of the European Basketball Championships, round three, group C.
