Ljubljana, 14 September - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 15 September:
NEW YORK, the US - President Janez Drnovsek is to address the UN General Assembly at 9:45 PM Slovenian time. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to hold separate meetings with his Chilean and Montenegrin counterparts Ignacio Walker and Miodrag Vlahovic on the sidelines of the meeting.
LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is set to discuss notary fees and the national research and development programme for 2006-2010 at its weekly session. A press conference is scheduled for after the session at 2 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary foreign policy committee is to hold a closed-doors session to discuss the planned EU regulation on local border transport and changes to the Schengen Convention. The session is to get underway at 2 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The commander of Croatia's Army, Colonel General Marijan Marekovic, is to continue a three-day visit to Slovenia by meeting Chief of Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces, Major General Ladislav Lipic.
CHENGDU, China - Mayor of Ljubljana Danica Simsic is to continue her tour of China with a visit to the Chengdu Technological Park.
LJUBLJANA - Two debates are to be held related to the upcoming referendum on the public broadcaster bill: at 5 PM, the independent Peace Institute is to host a round table on the effects of legislation on public broadcasters; at 7 PM, the right-leaning Assembly for the Republic is to host a debate on press freedoms in Slovenia.
LJUBLJANA - The Employers Association is to host a round table on the employment act; at 2:30 PM.
LJUBLJANA - A press conference is to be held (4:30 PM) ahead of the launch of a workshop on Slovenia-Croatian relations, hosted by the Institute for Strategic Studies.
