Ljubljana, 16 September - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 16 September:

PORTOROZ - The main national ceremony marking the return of Primorsko to Slovenia is scheduled for 8 PM. PM Janez Jansa is to deliver the keynote address. (STA)

NEW YORK, the US - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to attend the conclusion of the world summit to mark the 60th anniversary of the UN. He is also set to deliver a lecture at Columbia University (1:15 PM local time).

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary EU affairs committee is to meet behind closed doors to debate positions for the participation of Slovenian officials at the session of the EU Council for Agriculture and Fisheries; at 2 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Member of the European Parliament Mihael Brejc (EPP/SDS) is to host a meeting of MEPs looking into Slovenia's progress in the establishment of the Schengen border. Brejc and Interior Minister Dragutin Mate are to address the press at noon. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The college of deputy faction leaders is set to meet at noon to set the agenda for the 26 September session of parliament and draft a framework agenda for October and November.

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands - The beginning of a meeting of EU economics ministers and their counterparts from 13 Asian countries, to be attended by Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak.

SHANGHAI, China - Ljubljana mayor Danica Simsic is to meet Shanghai mayor Han Zheng as part of her tour of China. A business delegation accompanying her is set to meet Chinese businessmen at a business forum.

GORNJA RADGONA - The Modern Army fair (taking place between 22 and 25 September) is to be presented to the press at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - A series of activities in cities and towns across Slovenia will kick off the European Mobility Week.

BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro - Slovenia will take on Bosnia-Herzegovina in the first round of the European Basketball Championships. The tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
