Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 10 to 16 September

Ljubljana, 17 September - The campaign in the run-up to the 25 September referendum on the RTV Slovenija act shifted to higher gear when the Church came out in support of the government-sponsored act. This prompted fierce reactions from the opposition, setting the stage for a heated, week-long exchange. While the campaign heated up, PM Janez Jansa was touring the Baltic, while President Janez Drnovsek attended the UN Summit marking the 60th anniversary of the organisation.
