Ljubljana, 18 September - Below is a schedule of events for Monday, 19 September:

NEW YORK, the US - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to address the general debate of the UN General Assembly. He is also expected to take part in a meeting of foreign ministers of the Central European Initiative (CEI) and a meeting of EU foreign ministers with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Rupel is also due to meet Pakistani counterpart Kurchid Kasuri.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - EU agriculture ministers are to convene for a two-day session to discuss sugar sector reforms. Slovenia is due to be represented by Agriculture Minister Marija Lukacic.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - Transport Minister Janez Bozic is set to launch a two-day visit to Denmark dedicated to reviewing transport ties between Slovenia and Denmark. Bozic and his Danish counterpart Flemming Hansen are expected to discuss public passenger transport, coastal motorway networks and the transport links between Denmark and Sweden. Moreover, the Slovenian delegation is due to visit the headquarters of shipping company Maersk Sealand, the leading shipping company at Slovenia's port of Koper.

BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro - Minister of Education and Sports Milan Zver is scheduled to wrap up a two-day visit to Serbia.

LJUBLJANA - The council of the ruling Slovenian Democrats (SDS) is to hold a session to review topical matters. Council head Branko Grims is set to issue a press statement after the meeting, expectedly at 6:30 PM. (STA)

WARSAW, Poland - The OSCE-sponsored European Human Rights Review Conference is to get underway. Slovenia is to be represented by the head of the OSCE task force Boris Frlec.

PORTOROZ - Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Janez Podobnik is to open the first-ever Slovenian Real Estate Conference. Staged by the GV Izobrazevanje group, the event is to begin at 9 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia (ZSSS), Slovenia's largest trade union confederation, is to speak about the bill on profit sharing and employee ownership at a press conference scheduled for 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - A ceremony is to be staged to mark the 25th anniversary of Slovenia's main arts and conference centre, the Ljubljana-based Cankarjev Dom.

PORTOROZ - The opening round of the singles and doubles competitions at the Slovenian Open, the first ever WTA tournament to be held in the country. (STA)
