Ljubljana, 22 September - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 23 September:
PIRAN - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to host his Austrian counterpart Ursula Plassnik, who will be on a working visit to Slovenia.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary environment committee is to discuss the government-sponsored bill on the declaration of an ecological zone and continental shelf in the Adriatic at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary EU affairs committee is to discuss the recent EU Council session which was attended also by Slovenia's agriculture minister; a press conference scheduled for 4 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The SLOMAK coordinating body of the Slovenian minority is to discuss the status of the Slovenian minority in Austria, Italy, Hungary and Croatia. A meeting with FM Dimitrij Rupel at 9 AM and a press conference at 1 PM. (STA)
SEVNICA - A gathering of local printed media is to begin at 9:30 AM, with PM Janez Jansa as the key-note speaker, to be followed by a panel on the plurization of the Slovenian media at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - A number of advocates and opponents of the government-sponsored act on RTV Slovenija are to present their views on the disputed law at a series of news conferences before the election blackout settles in on Saturday.
LJUBLJANA - A two-day international conference on the Hague tribunal's achievements is to open at 10 AM, sponsored by the Peace Institute and Open Society Funds from Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina; a press conference at noon. (STA)
CELJE - An several-day international symposium on the integration of minorities in the EU is to begin at 9 AM, discussing a number of issues regarding ethnic groups and migration policies.
LJUBLJANA - Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak is to meet Secretary General of the World Tourism Organisation Francesco Frangialli to discuss Slovenia's tourism policy.
LJUBLJANA - A Slovenian-Iranian business conference is to begin at 10 AM as the head of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce Mohammad Reza Behzadian visits Slovenia.
LJUBLJANA - The collegiate body of the speaker of the parliament and deputy faction leaders is to meet at noon to set the agenda of the September parliamentary session, which opens on Monday.
BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro - Slovenia are to take on Germany in the quarterfinals of the European Basketball Championships at 6 PM. (STA)
PORTOROZ - The fifth day of competition at the Slovenian Open, the first ever WTA tournament in the country. (STA)
KRANJ - A ceremony is scheduled for 10 AM for a new rotation of the Slovenian Armed Forces before their departure for Bosnia-Herzegovina, where they are take part in the Althea peace-keeping operation.
