MONDAY, 10 October

        BUDAPEST, Hungary - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to launch a two-day visit to Budapest, where he is to take part Tuesday at the meeting of the regional partnership ministers with the countries of the West Balkans.
        LONDON, Great Britain - The chair of the parliamentary EU affairs committee, Anton Kokalj, is to travel to London, where he will participate Tuesday at the 34th Conference of Community and European Affairs Committees of Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC).
        LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to meet Indian Ambassador Nanbir Singh.
        PORTOROZ - The International Nuclear Law Association (INLA) is to stage the biennial international conference Nuclear Inter Jura 2005.
        LJUBLJANA - Prime Minister Janez Jansa and Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk are to present the budget report and budget proposal for the next two years at the parliament's 12th extraordinary session.
        LJUBLJANA - European Commissioner for Science and Research Janez Potocnik is to visit the Jozef Stefan Institute, the leading Slovenian research centre.
        PORTOROZ - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to open the 5th two-day conference on taxes and finances, organised by the GV Izobrazevanje group.
        LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions (ZSSS) is to talk to the press about the consequences of introducing a flat tax rate in health care.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's biggest insurance company Zavarovalnica Triglav is to present the press its goals on the market of health insurance.
        TRSKA GORA - Drug maker Krka is to talk to the press about its business results.
        LJUBLJANA - Economics Minister Andrej Vizjak and the head of the government Institute for Macroeconomic Analysis and Development (IMAD) Janez Sustersic are to take part at a meeting on the future of Slovenia, staged by the companies Pristop and Deloitte.
        LJUBLJANA - Europa Donna, the Slovenian association for the fight against cancer, is to present to the press the mammotome breast biopsy system at the Ljubljana Oncology Institute.
        LJUBLJANA - World Mental Health Day. The Institute of Public Health is to stage a round table.

TUESDAY, 11 October
        LJUBLJANA - Finnish President Tarja Halonen is expected to visit Slovenia. She is to meet her host President Janez Drnovsek, Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek and Parliament Speaker France Cukjati.
        LJUBLJANA - Vice-President of the European Commission Loyola de Palacio is to visit Slovenia. She is to meet Transport Minister Janez Bozic to discuss the fifth-pan-European transport route, which crosses Slovenia, focusing on the railway between Koper and Divaca.

        LJUBLJANA - Finnish President Tarja Halonen is to conclude her two-day visit in Slovenia. She is to meet Ljubljana Mayor Danica Simsic.
        LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm is to represent Slovenia at the meeting of EU justice ministers.
        LJUBLJANA - The government is to visit the north-western Gorenjska region.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary environment and spatial planning committee, and the parliamentary committee for economy are to hold their sessions.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenia's representatives at the Frankfurt Book Fair are to be presented to the press.

THURSDAY, 13 October
        LJUBLJANA - Swedish Foreign Minister Laila Frievalds is to visit Slovenia, where she will be received by her Slovenian host and counterpart Dimitrij Rupel and President Janez Drnovsek.
        LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to hold its weekly session.
        LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary finance and monetary policy committee, and the parliamentary agriculture, forestry and food committee are to stage their sessions.
        
FRIDAY, 14 October
        ZAGREB, Croatia - President Janez Drnovsek is to take part at the two-day meeting of the presidents of Central European countries.
        LJUBLJANA - The Economic and Social Council is to hold a session, where PM Janez Jansa and the head of the reform committee Joze P. Damijan are to present the proposals for economic and social reforms.
        LJUBLJANA - World Standards Day.

SATURDAY, 15 October
        LJUBLJANA - The largest opposition party, Liberal Democrats (LDS), is to stage its congress.
