PES Reiterates the Need for European Perspective of the Balkans

Ljubljana, 17 October - The Party of European Socialists (PES) reiterated the need to give countries in the Western Balkans a European perspective. However, PES deputy group chairman Martin Schulz and Slovenian MEP Borut Pahor stressed at the onset of a conference on the Balkans' EU outlook that the accession process will be long and labourious.
